Our Pastor
Pastor Wayne Parker
- Native of coastal North Carolina
- Married to his lovely wife, Rebecca Parker for 24 years
- Blessed father of two sons: Jeremy, 24, and Jonathan, 19, which he has had the privilege of serving
as mentor and friend experiencing the joys of watching dreams and potentials become realities
- Educated at Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God in Central Florida and ordained with the
North Carolina District of the Assemblies of God
- Over the previous 25 years has served in various capacities of ministry as youth pastor, associate
and senior pastor
- Has pioneered two churches in the last 11 years, including the present pastorate at
Destiny Church of North Carolina, Inc. in Greensboro, NC
- Believes adamantly that God has a plan and purpose for each of our lives, that each person should
come into a sense of Destiny greater than their past or present environment, not bound by race,
gender, or heritage, breaking the limitations of their fears, and reaching for their potential
which God has created within them

In January of 1999, the Lord had compelled me to go away for a few days of fasting and prayer. I chose to
go to Wilmington, NC to a friend's home, who had and extra room for me to stay in undisturbed. I had gone
down to Wrightsville Beach to seek God's direction for our future. Standing there on an isolated beach on
a winter's day, God suddenly spoke to me about planting a new church. We had no intentions of leaving but
did want to expand in ministry. Now the Lord was giving me the greatest opportunity I could have imagined
to go to Greensboro, NC and start another new church. We spent one year in closing out our responsibilities
in that pastorate, while preparing to open Destiny Church. I have a vision for other churches, which
will be planted from Destiny Church, where Spirit-filled ministry can bring a message of hope, synergy,
and celebration. This is a great opportunity.
